Vista Sand Ltd. announced the addition of 1.5 million tons of annual production capacity at its mine in Granbury, Texas, which increases the overall capacity to approximately 4.5 million tpy of its Texas Premium White frac sand. Vista Sand also obtained a second Texas sand deposit projected to yield another 2 million tons annually.
The additional capacity strategically positions Vista Sand to take advantage of increased demand from industry players who want to benefit from the logistical savings offered by native proppant producers while still enjoying a quality white sand.
“We are very bullish on Vista’s future in the oil and gas industry given our geographical advantage and quality sand reserves, so as a result, we have made the necessary capital investments to position ourselves to accommodate current and future customer demand,” said Marty Robertson, partner at Vista Sand. “In addition to our mine expansion and newly acquired reserves, we have also invested in destination terminals and truck assets to better position our customers in the respective basins, allow for the forward staging of product to help capture spot market sales, and provide mine-to-well logistical solutions.”
